Hannah Decker
Hannah Decker graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice from National Louis University and a MS in Biological Anthropology from Northern Illinois University. While working on her Masters degree she began her career as a Death Investigator with the Kane County Coroner’s Office as a para-deputy and administrative assistant.
During her education and career, Hannah has interned and served with multiple universities and organizations including the Department of Defense POW/MIA Agency at OFFUTT Air Force Base where she worked in the forensic lab identifying remains from past war conflicts. Hannah is skilled in crime scene processing and photography, cellular extractions, and human remains excavations.
Currently Hannah is employed by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office where she works as a Crime Scene Investigator and Digital Forensics Examiner. She is a member of the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force, Kane County Search and Rescue Team, is a skeletal remains analyst for the Illinois Department of Human Resources and is a consultant for Kenyon International Emergency Services.
Additionally, Hannah works with the Kane County Explorers and Cadet programs and enjoys speaking and presenting in local schools and communities, providing hands on instruction and learning opportunities to inspire the next generation of investigators and scientists. Hannah is passionate about her continuing education as well and regularly seeks opportunity to improve her education and skills by partnering with other forensic professionals throughout the region and US.
