Meghan Vold
Meghan graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration and double minor in Homeland Security and Security Administrations. She began her law enforcement career in 2013 with the Park Forest Police Department after graduating from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA). She worked as a patrol officer and was selected to be on the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SMART) where she eventually became a team leader. While on SMART Meghan completed advanced accident reconstruction courses through Northwestern University for Public Safety and became a Crime Scene Investigator and Field Training Officer. In October 2017 Meghan received the South Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police Medal of Valor for response to a critical incident.
In 2018, Meghan graduated from the South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT) Swat School. Meghan was assigned to Investigations for 3 years and was responsible for investigations ranging from theft and forgeries to attempted murders. In 2020, while in Investigations, Meghan returned for her Master of Science in Public Safety Administration through Calumet College of St. Joseph.
In 2021, Meghan was chosen by her department to be a supervisor for a SLEA academy class, after which she was invited back as an adjunct faculty member responsible for assisting with the classroom instruction and scenario based trainng. In 2022, Meghan was the first female to be promoted to the rank of Sergeant at the Park Forest Police Department. Meghan was nominated twice for Back the Blue – A Girl and A Gun’s Women’s Organization to travel to Texas and Florida to participate in extensive weapon and defensive tactics skills training.
In 2022, Meghan laterally transferred to the Tinley Park Police Department where she has been placed on the Advanced Crime Scene Investigator and Accident Investigation teams.
With continuous advanced training and a deep passion for teaching, Meghan approaches officer safety, patrol procedures, firearms instruction, and training with unwavering commitment and discipline.
